Industrial engineer by training and profession mannequin, Monteiro cultivates skills, knowledge and bags for photography without directly devoting himself. Traveling the world as part of
her millinery business, he met in 2007 the New York photographer Alfonse Pagano, who quickly became his friend and mentor for a discipline he initiates. His creative force assumed, it is striving
to construct a visual universe in his own image.
Through the blurred border between photojournalism and fashion photography, he discovered a taste for the portrait, the eyes and sensitivity that they allow it, but especially for his
homeland, Africa. And yet, though deep and genetically transcultural, he does not let himself be surprised by cleavage or-biased, but cultivates its rich feature by projecting a double look on the
themes it addresses.
